Komatsu America

Artic offers more than an engine update

It’s one thing to fulfill a mandate to meet emissions requirements. True to form, however, Komatsu has used the opportunity to enhance the performance and productivity of its HM400-3 articulated dump truck. Powered by a Tier 4 Interim-certified SAA6D140E-6 engine generating 469 horsepower, the new 40-metric-ton-capacity artic has an updated body design that increases payload. In load-and-haul applications, the truck’s low loading height of 10 feet 5 inches matches easily with 40- to 60-metric-ton hydraulic excavators or 5.5- to 6.5-cubic-yard wheel loaders. Two single-staged body lift cylinders provide the truck with a 70-degree dump angle. The new Komatsu Traction Control System (K-TCS) automatically provides optimum traction when operating in soft ground conditions. As ground conditions worsen, speed sensors located on four wheels detect tire slippage, and automatic application of the inter-axle differential lock occurs. If tire slippage continues to be detected, four independent brakes can be applied to slipping wheels to regain traction. The HM400-3’s six-speed, fully-automatic transmission uses an advanced electronic system to eliminate shift shock and torque cutoff.

Michelin

Keeping those big trucks rolling

When it comes to heavy hauling, rubber is gold. Keeping good tires under big iron is essential to quarries operating at optimum 24/7 productivity. To that end, the Michelin X-QUARRY S tire features a square, reinforced shoulder providing a large contact area, resulting in even tire wear. A thick sidewall band protects the rigid-dump-truck tire from abrasions and damage caused by rocks or other site debris. The tire’s non-directional tread is unbroken in the center – with deep, angled grooves – to reduce vibration and enhance the ride comfort for the operator. Easy to repair, the X Quarry S tire has low rolling resistance, increasing the fuel efficiency of the truck, says Michelin.

Case

Emissions-certified backhoes load up on features

North America’s venerable backhoe brand, Case, has added another chapter to the storied history of what it has since 1957 called the “loader/backhoe.” Only 15 months after introducing the N Series models, Case announced a series of product improvements at World of Concrete 2012, most boldly the application of cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) as the emissions-control technology to achieve Tier 4 Interim certification. This leverages technology in use in on-highway trucks by parent company Fiat, and reflects a double-barrel approach by Case to not pigeonhole all of its product types with one initial technology. “Make no mistake,” said Jim Hasler, vice president of CNH (Case New Holland), at a World of Concrete press conference attended by Better Roads. “We are the only ones going down the path of both SCR and EGR,” he said, but added, “we believe SCR will prevail.” The 580N, 580 Super N, 580 Super N Wide Track and 590 Super N loader/backhoes are now powered by 3.4-liter, turbocharged engines ranging from 78 to 108 horsepower. Certified Tier 4 Interim, the CEGR engines burn cleaner, and deliver increased output and up to 4-percent better fuel efficiency under load, says Case. Other product enhancements include automatic Ride Control on four-wheel-drive models, a standard panel of teeth on the bottom surface of the dipper, and remote hydraulic test ports for ground-level maintenance access. New optional features include a block heater and a remote jump start.

Move snow with flare!

Deep-curl flared wings provide the breakthrough capacity for the new VF Series trip-edge V-plows to cast deep snow farther and higher than other pickup truck plow designs, says manufacturer Hiniker. The tops of the moldboards, depending on the plow’s length, flare from a height of 30 inches at the center to 38 inches at the outside tips. For the operator, double-acting hydraulic cylinders provide control of moldboard positioning, whether the pickup is plowing forward or back-dragging snow. Also available in conventional level-top configurations, VF Series plows are available in lengths of 8 feet 6 inches and 9 feet 6 inches. A pinch-free pivot point is located 9 inches above the ground level, providing protection from curbs, parking barriers and other obstacles. By incorporating laser-cut ribs into the plow’s high-tensile steel superstructure, Hiniker leverages the 2-inch steel torque tube for strength in heavy-duty plowing applications. The moldboards, topped by quad halogen headlights boasting twice the power of typical sealed beam lamps, have a low-friction, high-density polyethylene surface that is corrosion-free, dent-resistant and never requires refinishing. And, most importantly, it keeps flow of snow from becoming slow.

John Deere

Improved stability, 6-percent boost

John Deere’s 7-yard class 844K Series II wheel loader introduced at the World of Concrete 2012 features new axles, improved stability and a 6-percent boost to full-turn tip-load capacity. Other improvements include ROPS certification and low-profile tires. The higher-capacity axles have standard temperature monitoring, and automatic cooling and filtration. Hy-Gard oil allows change intervals to extend to 2,000 hours. The 844K II comes with four traction-boosting axle-differential configurations, including two with on-the-fly differential lock engagement. Front and rear axle hydraulically actuated differential lock with on-the-fly engagement provides maximum traction control for tough conditions, such as working on virgin aggregate banks. Auto differential lock applies when the wheels spin and the operator doesn’t apply the differential lock. Conventional differential lock is a good match for standard load-out applications.

Case

10-percent increase in fuel economy

Case Construction Equipment introduced its 621F wheel loader model at the World of Concrete 2012 show. The new machine provides up to a 10-percent increase in fuel economy over the previous model, while delivering faster acceleration, quicker cycle times and higher travel speeds. A new dual-mode shutdown feature maximizes fuel economy and monitors vital engine components. Using the fuel-saver mode, the operator can limit the time the machine will idle. The desired shutdown time can be set in five-minute increments. The loader has standard limited-slip front and rear axles that provide outstanding traction in all conditions, especially in non-compacted surfaces such as gravel. Optional heavy-duty axles with locking front and conventional rear differentials help reduce tire wear when working on hard surfaces. The standard four-speed transmission with manual kick-down capability provides maximum traction and increased bucket penetration.

Paladin

Secure coupling with JRB grabber

The JRB Power Latch multi-pin-grabber coupler by Paladin Construction Group employs an Automatic Blocking System that ensures the coupler still is engaged in the event of hydraulic failure. Working with a wide range of excavator and backhoe attachments, the coupler has backup mechanical locks on both the front and rear attachment pins that are independent of the machine’s hydraulic locking and operating system. If the rear bucket pin is not correctly engaged, or missed during the attachment process, the ABS automatically secures the front attachment pin. Attachments can only be removed by the operator when they are in a safe, curled position. Flashing LED warning lights and an audible “stand clear” message alert bystanders when the operator is switching attachments.

Case

Digging smart with attachments

Case Construction Equipment’s Smart Digging Systems components, introduced at World of Concrete 2012, include new pin-on buckets, coupler buckets, the Case Multi-Fit Coupler and the SmartFit bucket teeth system. The pin-on buckets are designed for heavy-duty, high-capacity applications such as digging in dense soil, clay, loose rock and gravel. The Case Multi-Fit Coupler offers complete hydraulic latching, and a patented mechanical blocking system eliminates manual safety pin insertion. The universal design of the coupler enables Case excavators to connect a wide range of Case and other OEM buckets and attachments within the same size class, the manufacturer says. A hydraulic check valve and mechanical blocking bar help prevent the accidental release of an attachment. The coupler buckets work in either the backhoe or face positions for optimum versatility.

Vermeer

Gas or diesel engine options

The Vermeer S450TX mini skid steer is customizable with engine and track options – a narrow 7-inch-wide track for tight work spaces and a standard 9-inch track are available. A 500-pound SAE-rated operating capacity with a 1,430-pound tipping capacity gives the machine a lot of muscle for its size. A four-pump hydraulic system provides performance and efficiency when powering attachments. A single pilot-operated joystick is also now integrated into the S450TX platform, which the manufacturer says makes the machine easy to maneuver and operate in comparison to manual control systems. A Kubota 24.8-horsepower diesel engine powers the mini skid steer. A Kohler EFI 27-horsepower gas engine will be available later this year. A narrow 7-inch track provides a smaller machine footprint for tight work areas, such as landscaping applications and residential construction. The standard 9-inch track offers reduced ground pressure for increased flotation and stability.

Bobcat

Follow any terrain

The Bobcat sonic tracer/slope sensor kit for M-Series compact loaders provides a form of automatic grade control in applications where lasers may not be suitable. The sonic/slope combination can follow nearly any terrain, unlike laser grading which requires the jobsite to be on a plane. The sensor kit uses four sensors mounted on the grader attachment. Two sensors help correct grading when going up and down hills, and when the blade is angled versus straight. The two other sensors provide the sonic trader and slope sensor options. The kit is designed for grading with a string line, matching an existing surface or previous pass, and following existing curb and gutter.

Caterpillar

TRANSPO

Alarm can now stand alone

A sound idea for safety is now an even more versatile tool for highway construction zones. An add-on accessory for the SonoBlaster, the mobility kit allows the award-winning work zone intrusion alarm manufactured by Transpo Industries to be used independent of other on-site objects. Upon initial introduction, the SonoBlaster system was attached to A-frames, barricades, security fences, traffic cones, barrels and drums often placed along road construction sites. The impact-activated device warns on-site crews and errant drivers simultaneously, blasting for 15 seconds a carbon dioxide-powered alarm measured at 125 decibels at a distance of 6 feet. Transpo recommends 15-25 SonoBlaster units be placed approaching and alongside any highway work zone. The SonoBlaster is a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) NCHRP 350 Category II accepted safety device and, upon introduction, was recognized by Better Roads with a 2010 Top Rollout Award.

U-TECK

WeedEnder cuts down on a growing problem

Mowing wide open spaces is difficult enough for road agencies and maintenance contractors in this era of tightened budgets. Trimming vegetation along guardrails, cable barriers and road signs? Yeah, right! Well, U-TECK has a solution that saves environmentally as well as fiscally. The WeedEnder is a non-vegetative treatment that eliminates the use of herbicides, particularly important in eco-sensitive areas nears streams and lakes. Not to be confused with landscape fabrics, the total system is made from recycled plastic bottles, and is often called “flexible concrete” due to its rugged nature. It is available in rolls measuring 1 to 6 feet wide by 250 feet long, and comes in asphalt color, with post cut-outs and conformed to roadway contour. The manufacturer reports WeedEnder can even be repeatedly driven over by trucks without damage. When roadside repairs or changes are required below or around the WeedEnder, the material can be rolled up, removed, and later re-installed without damage, says U-TECK. With a minimum lifespan of 15 years, WeedEnder is water-permeable, thus reducing stormwater runoff and slowing erosion. It is also flame-retardant, which could reduce the threat of roadside fires, the company says.

Western, Fisher, Blizzard

Adjustable-wing snowplows

Western, Fisher and Blizzard adjustable-wing snowplows allow operators to put the snowplow into the most efficient positions needed to get the job done. In narrow areas, an adjustable-wing snowplow can be used as a compact straight blade. In large, wide-open areas, the wings can be expanded to provide a larger plowing path. When plowing with the blade angled, the leading wing can be angled inward to direct snow right to the heart of the blade, eliminating “spill off” that can occur with a normal straight blade or V-plow. Adjustable-wing snowplows can also be put into “scoop” position, with both wings angled inward, to give the operator the ability to effectively contain snow. In scoop mode, they also can fully angle right and left, to help control spill-off and reduce clean-up time.

Snow Technologies and Resolute Rubber are bringing new life to old tires as snow plow blades. In a former life, the plows were 10-foot tires from mining dump trucks. The blades adjust instantly to changes in surface, provide easy alignment because there’s no rolled rubber distortion, and allow for multiple uses because of slotted holes, says the company. Because they’re rubber, they don’t chip curbs when hit or harm asphalt parking lots, says the maker. “Instead of putting [the tires] in a landfill, we are repurposing them,” Chad Van Laecken, president and CEO of Snow Technologies, tells Better Roads.

CATERPILLAR

Specially developed operator’s platform

Caterpillar has unveiled its very first hybrid excavator, the Cat 336EH. It is the first in an upcoming line of hybrid excavators and will be officially launched in April 2013 at the Bauma International Trade Fair in Munich, Germany. However, this isn’t an electricity/fuel hybrid like the automobile industry has segued into. Instead, Cat developed a new hydraulic hybrid technology that it says allows the new 336EH to get up to 25-percent greater fuel efficiency than the standard 336E and up to 50-percent greater fuel efficiency over the Cat 336D. Cat is using three main new components to conserve, optimize, and reuse hydraulic power (1)Electronic Standardized Programmable Pump: By matching the engine and pump closely, Cat can use a larger displacement pump and significantly reduce fuel consumption (2) Adaptive Control System: The brains of the system, this directs the flow of the energy throughout the machine; and (3) Hydraulic Hybrid Swing System: This takes otherwise wasted swing braking energy and recovers and reuses it. http://tinyurl.com/Cat-336H-hybrid

VOLVO

More material density, fewer passes

Volvo Construction Equipment’s SD75 soil compactor is a highly maneuverable, mid-sized machine. The soil compactor provides greater material density in fewer passes. High centrifugal forces, high frequency and drum weight all combine to produce the energy necessary for excellent compaction and high machine productivity, according to the company. Dynamic drum forces can be adapted to suit a wide range of terrain or depth of material. High or low amplitudes are selectable from the operator control panel. Additionally, two drum frequencies can be chosen with a console switch to compensate for changing soil types and conditions and an optional five-frequency feature further boosts the machine’s versatility and performance. A center joint provides +/-38 degrees of articulation and +/-17 degrees of drum oscillation for stable, flexible machine performance and greater operator comfort over rough terrain. Because the 66-inch-wide drum remains in constant contact with the ground surface, compaction is both smooth and uniform. www.volvoCE.com

john-deereUntitled-1John Deere

editor's-pickUntitled-1Diesel-electric hyrbid loader

John Deere Forestry and Construction showcased its new 644K Hybrid wheel loader at February’s World of Concrete show. The loader captures regenerated energy (from both diesel and electric sources) as it’s being created and uses it to help power the machine. It has four operating speed ranges, but no reverse gear or clutches as direction changes are performed by the electric motor. The generator is brushless and converts the rotational energy from the engine into three-phase alternating current (AC). The water-cooled inverter is a solid-state electronic system that delivers electrical energy to the motor. The single electric motor is also brushless and converts three-phase (AC) back to rotational energy and torque. It replaces the job of a torque convertor, but can also work as a generator to recycle energy back into the system. Freightliner unveiled its new Frameworks Truck Equipment Manufacturers Program on March 7 at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis.

Dave Hames, general manager for Freightliner, says the new program is designed to formalize the relationship between the OEM and truck body upfitters.

“We recognize that for many of our customers we are not the final manufacturer of the vehicle they depend on,” Hames explained. “This combined package approach is designed to create ways to support truck equipment manufacturers with a variety of initiatives from design upfit planning and support, to financing. All of which is designed to make their jobs easier.”

Specifics include a two-day training program on Freightliner chassis’ and upfitting procedures. This educational program includes three dimensional digital layouts to help upfitters map out installation procedures using Freightliner engineering input. A “visibility package” will also give upffiters greater transparency in tracking a vehicle thorough the entire upfit/transportation process – to avoid “black holes” where the truck’s location and status is uncertain, allowing upfitters and customers to manage their schedules better.

In other news, Daimler Trucks North America has also positioned its entire product portfolio on a “Daimler Row” on the Work Truck show floor to remind attendees as to the full scope of its product range. In fact, the company’s entire North American product range, from Mercedes Sprinter vans, Mitsubishi Fuso cabovers up to Freightliner SD Class 8 vocational models are represented in the new arrangement.

Live coverage from the NTEA: The Work Truck Show in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS–How about a “little” news from the Work Truck Show? Or, rather, as “little” as things can get when you’re talking about Mack Trucks.

The venerable manufacturer chose the Work Truck Show here in Indianapolis to show a new, medium-duty Granite that is optimized for municipalities, landscapers and small contractors.

CMackurtiss Dorwart, vocational product manger for Mack, says the idea is to offer Granite toughness to municipalities and smaller contractors who don’t need a full size Granite or have tight budgets that won’t allow them to purchase a Class 8 work truck.

The Mack Medium-Duty Granite can be spec’d as a Class 7 truck or a Baby 8. Both versions feature a 4×2 drivetrain and a 9-liter, Cummins ISX9 rated at 345 horsepower. This power is harnessed by an Allison 3000 automatic transmission. The truck will be offered in either set-forward or set-back axle configurations.

Dortwart says a clean back-of-cab design helps the Mack Medium Duty 4×2 accommodate a wide variety of body options, including those required for utility, dump and municipal applications. The short bumper-to-tire distance offers front-end swing clearance and superior wheel cut – key for navigating tight turns in municipalities and construction sites.

The galvanized steel cab of the MHD 4×2 is mounted on airbags and shocks so the driver stays comfortable during the workday. Mack’s Cornerstone chassis, built of high-strength steel alloy for a stronger, lighter frame, is offered in four frame rail thicknesses ranging from 7 mm to 11.1 mm.

NTEA: What’s up with Sprinter?

A lot, as it happens. Following the disillusion of the Daimler-Chrysler merger in 2008, Sprinter has flown under the radar a bit here in the States. But the distinctively-styled Mercedes vans remain available at select Freightliner dealerships.

Moreover, according to Claus Tritt, vice president of operations for Daimler Vans, Mercedes is actively growing its portion of the business, which he describes as being distinctly different from a “typical” Freightliner customer. Tritt says most Freightliner customers are (obviously) involved in trucking and tend to want Sprinter vans as support vehicles in fleet operations. The typical Mercedes Benz customer tends to be a successful small business owner looking for high-profile commercial vehicle to promote and advance their businesses.

Tritt notes that 2011 saw Sprinter log its highest volume of units sold in North America, with over 21,000 vans rolling off of dealer lots. And he believes that number will grow in coming years as Mercedes aggressively adds dealerships and continues to optimize and refine the van itself.

Crucial to its success, Tritt says, are a number of key factors that are contributing to this successful run, including a recent SAE Type II fuel test that demonstrated 24.9 mpg on highway with the Sprinter’s V-6 Diesel engine. Other key attributes include a 6-foot, 4-inch high interior, 547 cubic feet of cargo space and a payload capacity of up to 5,415 pounds.

Tritt concedes that compared to other vans available on the U.S. market today, Sprinter has a premium price point. But he believes that most Sprinter buyers are more sophisticated and tend to look at overall cost of ownership when making their buying decision. “When you look at specifics such as fuel economy, parts availability, dealer support and other critical factors over the life of the vehicle,” he notes, “You see that Sprinter is a really good value proposition.”

Live coverage from NTEA: The Work Truck Show in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS–Ford  Motor Co.‘s introduced on March 7 its all-new Transit chassis cab and cutaway models, which the company says is engineered to tackle an almost unlimited variety of specialized jobs and vocations. Ford also unveiled the next-generation Transit Connect compact van/wagon.

Tim Stoehr, commercial truck marketing manager for Ford, says the Transit Connect jumped-started the compact van market in the United States and this next-generation model will build and improve on that legacy. The new model will have  choice of 105- or 121-inch wheelbases as well as “best in class load length and cargo volume.”

A new tow package will allowing trailering payloads of up to 2,000 pounds. Base power for the Transit Connect will be a 2.5 liter engine with a fuel efficient 1.6 liter four-cylinder available as an option. Both van and wagon versions have a payload capacity in excess of 1,670 pounds. Both models are designed for easy LNG/CNG conversion. CNG/LPG engine prep from the Ford factory costs approximately $325 before the customer chooses a partner to supply fuel tanks, fuel lines and unique fuel injectors. Upfits run about $9,500 to $12,500, depending on fuel tank capacity.

The larger, more powerful Transit van marks a new day for Ford commerical vehicles — a clear European design that is a marked departure from the “Scooby Doo Mystery Machine” box vans that have dominated the North American market for the better part of the last four decades.

According to Chris Brewer, chief engineer, commerical vehicles, says Ford will  will offer Transit in a range of full-size vans, wagons, cutaway, and chassis cab models powered by a 3.7-liter V6 equipped with a CNG/LPG prep kit.

Transit will be offered with a range of fuel-efficient engines, including a standard 3.7-liter V6, and the same 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine found in the Ford F-150, as well as an all-new 3.2-liter Power Stroke Diesel option.

Additionally, Ford will offer the Transit 3.7-liter V6 with a compressed natural gas/liquid propane gas (CNG/LPG) prep kit. This 3.7-liter V6 is also engineered for optimal performance with E85 flex- fuel capability.

Each fuel-conscious engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission for efficient rear-wheel-drive operation.

In addition to the standard van configuration, Ford also introduced a highly-adaptable Transit chassis cab model, which  features an enclosed passenger compartment and bare frame ready to accept aftermarket body modules ranging from custom cargo delivery to utility body. Transit cutaway is similar to the chassis cab, but with the rear of the passenger compartment open so it can be paired with specialty body modules such as shuttle or school bus bodies.

The chassis cab and cutaway will be offered in three wheelbases, 1next generation 38, 156 or 178 inches, and gross vehicle weight ratings from 9,000 pounds to 10,360 pounds.

NTEA: Nissan enters compact van market in a big way

Live coverage from NTEA: The Work Truck Show in Indianapolis

It’s hard to believe that just five years ago, Nissan, a global player in commercial vehicle markets had a net presence of zero in North America.

It’s a different scenario today. WIth the successful launch of both a full-sized commerical van and the from-scratch establishment of a commerical-focused dealer network, you’d think the Nissan team would want to rest on their laurels. Or at least take a little break.

But no. The company is jumping feet-first into the burgeoning compact U.S. commercial van market at the Work Truck Show with the launch of its new NV200 compact van.

Joe Castelli, vice president of Nissan’s commercial van business, is quick to note that the NV200 is not a revamped mini-van platform. It’s a commercial van that Nissan sells in both Europe and Asia – tweaked with a few modifications for the U.S. market. “We had to move the B-pillar back to conform with U.S. Side Impact Crash Standards,” Castelli notes. “But that just ended up giving us 8 more inches of leg room up front and cargo room in the back. Additionally, although we sell the NV200 with a small diesel engine standard overseas, we’ll  be offering it in North America with a 2-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine that logs 24 mpg in combined city and highway driving.”

Castelli notes that the compact van market largely didn’t exist either a few years ago, but is now moving around 40,000 units a year. He thinks the NV200′s $19,990 base price tag will be a highly attractive alternative to customers who don’t need a larger, more expensive commercial van, but historically have not had a lot of smaller options to choose from.

Some high-profile buzz never hurts, either. And so it’s with pride that Castelli notes that the NV200 has been chosen as the next New York City Taxicab platform – an achievement that has given Nissan significant global exposure while ensuring a contracted purchase of 2,500 NV200s a year for 10 years.

“Things today are evolving,” Castelli says. “Ten years ago, you only saw features like GPS navigation, Bluetooth and backup cameras on high-end luxury cars. And today we’re able to offer them on our compact work van for under $20,000. We’re able to offer a lot of capability at a very attractive price – and I think that’s going to be a big winner for us.”

ATSSA: Solar-assisted traffic signal unveiled

The new PTL 2.4LD has a smaller footprint.jpgNorth America Traffic (NAT) unveiled its new TL 2.4LD (“Light Duty”) signal system, a solar-assisted traffic signal that the manufacturer says will provide increased portability for mobile service crews to control traffic near work zones without requiring extra workers to act as flaggers on the site.

NAT says that its signal system is on track to complete field trials by the Fall of 2013. Adapted from NAT’s popular PTL 2.4x traffic signal, the new LD model was designed specifically for quick and easy setup and operation.

With one or two units towed behind the service truck, the operator can quickly set up a traffic control zone using familiar three-color traffic lights. The system is designed with emergency response in mind with a compact, highly maneuverable trailer frame. In typical use, its smaller solar-assisted battery pack will power the signals for five working days on one charge.

Peter Vieveen, president of North America Traffic, explains that his development team was especially concerned with crew safety for smaller municipalities as well as one man road repair crews.

“With tight maintenance and service budgets, it’s difficult to send extra flaggers along for every repair job,” Vieveen notes in a written statement. “This light-duty PTL will let you get the work done safely without taking on extra personnel costs.”

The PTL 2.4LD will feature the same high-intensity signals used in NAT’s standard PTL 2.4x system. These highly efficient signals have proven to be more visible to oncoming drivers than human flaggers, and can be seen from up to two miles away. The dual-head signals are mounted at a 9-foot height on the vertical mast and at 17 feet. for the primary signal head suspended above the traffic lane. Setup is completed with a one-button control that raises the mast and boom arm electrically. Easy to operate electrically deployed jacks are also used to stabilize the trailer.

Vieveen notes that, at 6-feet-wide, the new trailer design is also narrower than conventional systems, providing a smaller, safer footprint on narrow roads and shoulders.

Introduced at ATSSA, the test units of the PTL 2.4LD are currently in trials to verify their operation in varied climates and jurisdictions. Production models will be available through authorized North America Traffic dealers following the summer test season.
